Dr. Currie graduated from the University of Pennsylvania after doing his undergraduate studies at Rutgers and Colorado State University. Dr. Currie worked for the renowned orthopedic pioneer Dr. D. L. Proctor in Lexington, KY. In 1968 Dr. Currie came to central Texas to establish his own practice.
He has been a life member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners and served on the Board of Directors. Dr. Currie has presented several papers at the AAEP and served on numerous specialty committees. He has been the recipient of the TVMA Equine Practitioner of the Year. Dr. Currie is a life member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and serves on the Quarter Horse Committee. He has owned and/or shown multiple NCHA and AQHA World and Reserve champions. He continues to breed and show performance horses. Dr. Currie has spent his career as a horseman and veterinarian managing the health and soundness of equine athletes. He continues to maintain and promote high ethical standards for veterinary medicine. Veterinary medicine is not a job to Dr. Currie, it is a way of life.
